Give it a rest already! Just a few month after British rock band Queen indicated they’d approached Lady Gaga to front the band for a comeback tour, they’ve now told Billboard magazine in America that in fact now they’ve turned their attention to another gay icon, American Idol reject Adam Lambert.

Yeah, you know the one who caused all that controversy after during a performance at the American Music Awards made out with his male keyboard player, rode two of his male dancers who he held by a leash, and then simulated a headjob with another male dancer. Yeah, this guy makes Freddie Mercury look practically Mormon.

“He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that’s great,” drummer Roger Taylor told Billboard “We would like to work with him again. There’s nothing signed just yet but we’re talking about live dates. It could be very exciting.”

It wouldn’t be the first time members of Queen have teamed up with Lambert. Last year Taylor and guitarist Brian May performed classic Queen tunes “The Show Must Go On” and “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions.” at the MTV Europe Awards.

Far be it for us to say however that Lambert hasn’t had a successful career so far, he has. His debut album For Your Entertainment has sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. But do we really need to resurrect Queen again?
