They’re the band we love to hate, or hate to love, or sometimes just hate. Regardless Nickelback hold a special place somewhere for most of us, even if it is a very dark place.
The band also seem to take most things in their stride, despite being chosen as the number one turnoff in choosing a sexual partner and The Black Keys calling them “watered-down, post-grunge crap, horrendous shit“.
Fortunately for them they also have a good sense of humour, as showcased in a video response they did for the Detroit fans who had organised a 40,000 strong petition to have them booted off as halftime entertainment for the local football game.
But it isn’t all bad. They did after all play that football game for free to support a local charity, and took on a Canadian newspaper by calling their bluff and asking the paper to match their $50,000 donation to a local hospital.
Now the band have turned their attention to their ‘haters’ on Twitter, going on a rampage of amusing replies to some of their biggest detractors. The list could go on forever but we’ve chosen a few of our favourites to share below:
