The night of June 4, 1976, is part of rock n roll folklore as the night when punk rock began in the UK. On that night The Sex Pistols played a show in Manchester in front of fewer than 50 people.

A number of the audience members were so inspired by the gig they went on the form their own bands including The Smiths, Magazine, Joy Division, The Fall, Buzzcocks, New Order, and inspired TV presenter Tony Wilson to start up the iconic Factory Records.

Since then just about every man and his dog has claimed to have been at the concert dreaming up wonderful stories and further cementing the gig as one of the most important of all time. But what is really true?

This documentary tries to answer that question.
