The Splendour In The Grass 2012 lineup is slowly leaking out, despite the official announcement not expected for a number of weeks. The first confirmed cab off the rank was British band Django Django who let the news slip during an interview at SXSW.

Now the second confirmed ‘leak’ has come straight out of the horse’s mouth via Secret Sounds who today have postponed Zulu Winter’s debut Australian shows so that they can showcase the Oxford-based group at Splendour In The Grass 2012 instead.

The decision came after the Secret Sounds promoters witnessed Zulu Winter’s live show at SXSW and decided to keep them up their sleeve until the festival which will be making a triumphant return to Byron Bay this year.

For the rest of the lineup we’ll have to wait a few weeks still, although there are some creidble rumours making the rounds that should give us some idea of what to expect.

The Shins for instance let slip they’re due to play Splendour, although at this stage they’re only ‘pencilled in’. A few other names such as Lana Del Rey, Sleigh Bells, and The Ting Tingshave also been suggested although none of the acts have responded to the rumours.

Jack White is also tipped by many pundits after he was announced for Fuji Rock in Japan. According to Triple J’s Zan Rowe, who caught up with former White Stripes frontman at SXSW to talk about his debut solo record, White will definitely be touring his solo stuff down under soon and Splendour looks as good as time as any.

Two things we do know however – despite rumours to the contrary earlier this year neither the Stone Roses or Radiohead will be making an appearance at the festivalRadiohead have since announced an East Coast tour of Australia which sold out in record time.

The actual lineup is expected to be announced sometime in April.
