The ultimate rock n roll duo, Jack Black and Kyle Gass, otherwise known as Tenacious D are back and for anyone who’s asking they are totally ready to kick some ass.

The D’s first album in nearly six years, The Rize Of The Fenix, is due to drop on May 15th but for those of you who can’t wait that long they’ve put together a little teaser music video.

The mockumentary-style video, presented as a segment of fake-tabloid show ‘Extra’, details the last few years since their movie debut bomb ‘The Pick Of Destiny’.

In it Jack’s fame is shown as only growing since the movie whereas Kyle is shown to have been declared ‘nuts’ – locked up in a mental institution for his growing anger towards Jack’s success.

The video features a great lineup of celebrities including “Extra” host Maria Menounos, Tim Robbins, Josh Groban, Jimmy Kimmel, Val Kilmer, and Tenacious D fan boy Dave Grohl, who reportedly drums on their new album.

You can watch the video below, if only for the fact that you get to watch Val Kilmer die a very slow death. To be honest it’s probably his best performance in years.
