The queen of hard rock and ex-member of famous female rockers The Runaways, Lita Ford, is determined to win back her crown and she’s planning on doing just that with a new album, with its title (and talk) encouraging rumours of a reunion with her former bandmates.

This June will see the release of the singer’s first album in six years and in a clear nod to her former band, whom she recently kissed and made up with, Ford has named LP8 Living Like A Runaway.

Ford added further fuel to the reunion fire in a recent interview she conducted with Metal Underground. Asked about the prospect of future, all-female line-ups she replied “I would if it was The Runaways.”

Before adding that it would be difficult to get the co-operation of Joan Jett, since the passing of original drummer Sandy West in 2006. “She was such a huge part of the band,” says Ford, “I don’t know if Joan Jett would do the band without Sandy. I would, I love Sandy and nobody will ever take her place, but there’s still me and Joan and Cherie [Curie].”

Despite the bad blood between Curie and Ford that split the band, specifically over a beef that arose between the former co-vocalist and guitarist in a photo shoot of ’77, it was Jett that was able to repair the thirty-year dispute between the two. With the former offering a teary Facebook post explaining they’d put aside their differences, and Ford dedicating the title of her latest solo record to her former band, it’s a sure sign the falling out between them has since been all patched up.

Regardless, Ford is ready to back up the title of her latest album, and start Living Like A Runaway once more, telling Metal Underground “I would love to do the Runaways again, maybe next year, 2013 would be a good time.”
