Bummed you missed out on the actually secret Prince show at Bennet’s lane in Melbourne the other night? You may in luck, with The Hifi confirming that the purple one will be playing a special afterparty performance tonight at midnight.

The new comes despite the fiasco surrounding the supposed afterparty to Prince’s debut Melbourne show a few weeks back, and the secret Bennett’s Lane to performance to an extremely limited (and lucky) crowd of 70+ punters.

The Purple One’s infamous ‘secret’ gigs in Australia have thus far included a club show at Sydney’s The Ivy with Seal and Flava Flav, as well as two unannounced performances following his Brisbane arena shows. As far as these special shows have been, his show at Bennett’s last night was easily his most surprisingly intimate yet.

It’s not the first time Prince has used the jazz club to host his funk jams, during his last visit to Melbourne in 2003, he played a ‘warm-up’ show for lucky punters for only $20 for entry, making last night’s $200 price tag a 1000% mark-up!

Ever since his first performance in Melbourne a few weeks back – Purple Fever has been at an all-time high in Melbourne. It reached fever pitch however earlier today when radio jockeys over at Triple M took advantage of the current Prince hype in a move this morning by prank calling the star and waking him up for an ambush interview. Classy.

Despite the unexpected wake up call however Prince is planning on going out with a bang and a few hundred Melburnians are sure to be treated to a night they won’t soon forget. Details of the secret show are below.
