A Van She Australian headline tour 2012 has been announced, the band’s first string of tour dates in support of their forthcoming sophomore album Idea Of Happiness. The headline tour takes in 9 dates across Australia, starting in Perth on the eve of the official release of their new album on July 6.

The lead single from the album, also titled ‘Idea Of Happiness’ has been getting serious love added to high rotation at Triple J, over 150,000 streams on Soundcloud and Youtube, hitting #1 position on the Hype Machine charts, and a stella video directed by none other that Andreas Nilsson.

Now comes Van She’s sunshine-in-a-glass 2nd single, ‘Jamaica’. A romantic paean to an idyllic island in dreams, Jamaica takes the sound of Idea Of Happiness out to the end of the jetty and kicks if off the edge and into the tropical depths.

So uplifting it’s practically levitational, Van She’s new album is their most focused, joyous musical excursion to date. An album stirred by sun-baked travels and fleeting truths, and shaken with the sands of time, Idea Of Happiness was recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney, and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, Phoenix, M83) in Los Angeles.

Idea Of Happiness is an ecstatic celebration of Van She’s sound, and one the band and Modular are incredibly proud to share very soon. Rising stars RüFüS provide support on selected dates. Watch the video for 1st single ‘Idea Of Happiness’ below.
