Still jonesing for some more Prince after the Purple One’s recent ‘Welcome 2 Australia’ Tour? After his grand-standing arena spectaculars, secret Bennett’s Lane funk workout, and the not-so-secret, oh-so-disappointing ‘Thank You Australia’ afterparty – we don’t blame you.

Thanks to some enterprising fans, we can offer you a little bit of a fix. Antiquiet reports that some tenacious fanatics have dug up a previously unreleased track from 1982; around the same time Prince was in a prolific recording period that spawned side-project The Time as well as the mega-hit double album, 1999.

Entitled “Lust U Always”, the track features Prince in filthy lover mode, singing to the obsession of his affections with lyrics like “my analyst assures me that I’ll get over u”. The soundtrack featuring the characteristic drum machine rhythms and sleazy guitar licks we’ve come to expect from the Minneapolis legend.

Purple experts at Prince.org note that it is a full vocal version of the track, unlike the instrumental version that’s previously been floating around the internet. While the historians at Prince Vault note that the track was filed away in the vault before being offered to Robert ‘Addicted To Love’ Palmer in the late 80s, who eventually turned it down.

Probably because he wasn’t comfortable singing lines like “slow-motion ejaculation/purple ecstasy” or more disgutingly, “my body reeks with lust/I will rape u if I must”.

Woah, intense much?

That lyric alone is probably reason enough for the track being shelved, but the song’s tail-end monologue seeks to justify Prince’s lustful diatribe by reasoning, “that’s what Purple music’s all about/the meaning ain’t rude if you’re in the mood.”

You can have a listen to the leaked track below. As is usually the case with these things, better get in quick before the powers that be take notice and pull it:
