New York’s leading purveyors of glam-disco, Scissor Sisters, have announced their return to Australian soil in support of their latest slight of delightful pop campery, Magic Hour.

Playing a rapid-fire east coast tour, with dates in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, they’ll be bringing their lights and lycra to kick off in September, beginning with The Arena in Brisbane on the 25th, followed by Melbourne’s Hamer Hall Arts Centre on the 26th and Sydney’s Opera House on the 27th. Talk about classy!

They’ll no doubt be playing selections from their fourth studio album, the Josh Homme-plugged Magic Hour which makes full use of the band’s little black book with collabs with the likes of Calvin Harris, Diplo, Pharrell Williams and pint-sized performer Azealia Banks.

Following the release of the Calvin Harris produced single “Only The Horses’, lead singer Jake Shears called the album a “sweet joyful mélange of beat-driven future-pop. It style-hops all over the place unabashedly.” Much like their live show.

Their latest tour will allow Australian fans to catch their future-pop for first time since their disastrous appearance at Pyramid Rock to ring in 2012, with angry fans hurling water bottles, but – as our Tone Deaf reviewer noted – “the group [took] it like champs.”

Tickets go on sale 9am Wednesday 1st August 2012 through Ticketmaster.com.au
