What kind of an awfully sour human being do you have to be to turn up to a gig for comedy rock act Tenacious D and violently attack the audience?
Just ask the culprit who recently forced Jack Black and Kyle Gass’ recent Las Vegas show to a standstill after he brutally stabbed an audience member.
Classic Rock reports that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested an as-yet unidentified man who stabbed another concert-goer in the leg when a fight broke out in the audience. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery, with no further arrests expected in the investigation after two suspects were taken into custody but later released.
The duo, currently on tour to support their third and latest album, Rize of the Fenix, were performing at Mandalay Bay’s famous House of Blues, in support of hair metal act Steel Panther, but Police shut down the gig after the violent attack.
Tenacious D’s set was cut 30 minutes short by the audience scuffle that resulted in the scuffle, and fans were ordered not to leave by Police who arrived on the scene, until the venue was secured.
Concert stabbings have been an awful trend as of late, following recent news that nine Irish punters were stabbed at a Swedish House Mafia performance, while in New York, an ex-member of hardcore punk act Cro-Mags stabbed and bit his former bandmates backstage.
In more positive news, Tenacious D are still strongly rumoured for an appearance as part of the bill for Soundwave 2013, following Jack Black’s comments about bringing The D back down under.
