After creating considerable buzz following the success of two radio singles, Sydney’s Battleships are set for their debut release, a seven-track mini album entitled ‘To You’.
Leading the charge early this year was ‘In Retrospect’. It’s blend of haunting vocals and atmospheric music had listeners scrambling to hear it again and again. Following that, Battleships’ second single ‘Your Words’ added more substance to their already captivating sound.

Both singles have found themselves on high rotation on Triple J, as well receiving international attention from the likes of BBC6, Amazing Radio and Q Radio in the UK and support from College Radio as well as Sat Bisla’s Passport Approved in the US.

In addition to ‘In Retrospect’ and ‘Your Words’, ‘To You’ contains another five more tracks that do nothing but cement Battleships’ reputation for the evocative melodies and the intelligent musicianship they are becoming known for. Battleships delivers a mesmerising debut release in ‘To You’ – simultaneously anthemic and intricate.

“It’s great to hear some really intelligent, original indie again”
Nick Findlay ~ Triple J

“Haunting and hypnotic riffs coupled with moody, atmospheric vocals are what makes us sure Battleships will be on our radar for while yet”
