Does the word promoterotion sound vaguely familiar, yet you’re questioning your mental state as try as you might, you just can’t find that word in the dictionary?
Well, it’s a little something the folks at Southbound invented after a few too many espressos (or was it beers?) way back last year.
One of the most coveted jobs in the music industry is the Promoter. They’re the ones who decide which artists play on the festivals we all love to attend. And, they decide who plays when and on what stage. Sometimes it’s a little bit like tetris, slotting all the artists in, but actually, there is an art and a science to it.
And now it’s your turn!
For the second time in history, WA’s biggest music, camping and arts festival is bringing you the Southbound Promoterotion (that’s “Promoter” and “promotion” smooshed together).
We want you to have a shot at programming the Southbound playtimes on the two main stages, before we release the final version to you in a few weeks. Don’t worry about the Coconut Club, we’ve got that crazy stage covered.
Head to www.southboundfestival.com.au/promoterotion and give it a crack. We’ve categorised the artists, stages and days for you. You just need to slot the right artist in at the right time.
The winner (that’s whoever gets it the closest to our final set times) will get to be an honorary Southbound promoter for the weekend. That’s VIP tickets and backstage access with your very own AAA pass to hang with the Southbound Promoter.
