Prior to her first visit to Australian shores Elizabeth Cook will release her acclaimed album Welder on January 11.

Welder, the follow up to Cook’s 2007’s critically acclaimed Balls, was produced by the legendary Don Was (Rolling Stones, Lucinda Williams, Kris Kristofferson) and recorded with a band to die for including.

Tim Carroll, Marco Giovino (Robert Plant, Patty Griffin), Tony Paoletta (Dixie Chicks), Matt Combs, Tim Atwood (Grand Ole Opry), The Carol Lee Singers and Midnight Oil bass player Bones Hillman who now resides in Nashville. Welder also features guest appearances by Dwight Yoakam, Rodney Crowell and Buddy Miller.

Elizabeth Cook, the youngest of 11 half-brothers and sisters, grew up in rural Florida where her musician parents met while playing in local country bars. She is a relentless performer, touring worldwide, including well over 200 performances at The Grand Ole Opry. Welder, is the bold declaration of an uncompromising artist unafraid to be exactly who she is.

Elizabeth Cook will head to the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival and will also play selected sideshows.
