Having already announced shows together as part of next year’s Perth Festival and WOMADelaide lineups, Tim Rogers and The Bamboos  announced late last year that they’d  be continuing their soul synergy for The Rock N Soul Medicine Show, a series of national performances that brings together the two iconic Australian acts.

Now, with fans a-flutter, they’ve just announced two brand new shows  in Wollongong and Newcastkeas part of the tour!

The winning partnership first took place when Rogers collaborated with Bamboos bandleader Lance Ferguson on one of 2012’s most electric tunes, “I Got Burned”, taken from the double ARIA Award nominated Bamboos album, Medicine Man – one of the year’s most enduringly excellent releases, which our Tone Deaf reviewer called a “conistently fulfilling experience.

The duet in particular spurned several more opportunities to rendezvous, including a simmering performance at this year’s AIR Awards, and now the You Am I frontman and the ten-piece Bamboos ensemble are heading out for an extended trip on the road.

It’s the latest in a line of creative endeavours for the restless collaborator Tim Togers, which this year alone has seen his  career littered with awards, accolades, gold and platinum albums sales and sold out shows across the globe – kickstart his latest solo effort Rogers Sings Rogerstein; as well as miraculously finding the time to join the ranks of new Aussie country music supergroup, the Hillbilly Killers.

The Bamboos meanwhile, are also doffing their cap to a successful year. With Medicine Man being the latest entry in a more than ten years of delicious hip hop, soul, funk, mod, psych and more musicalities across five album. The collaborative album also saw them earning ARIA nods for Best Urban Album and Best Independent Release; as well as their most duly-deserved nomination in Best Live Act.

The full ten piece onstage line-up for these very special shows will be led by Tim Rogers on vocals, bandleader Lance Ferguson on guitar, and will of course feature the stunning resident Bamboos vocalists Kylie Auldist and Ella Thompson.

Along with these two iconic acts, the support act for a number of the shows on the tour has just been announced as Melbourne’s own Money For Rope.  Releasing their debut album earlier this year, the band have received acclaim from the likes of Dan Sultan, Chris Cheney of the Living End, and Tim Rogers himself (not to mention a Tone Deaf reviewer).

These raucous merchants of Soul and Rock ‘n Roll will be rambling into your town very soon, peddling musical elixirs new and old from their own extensive back catalogues, alongside some carefully hand-picked covers.
