Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio and Foals’ Edwin Congreave will be going head to head at Ding Dong Lounge’s indie disco Midnight Run after their Big Day Out Appearances in Melbourne this Australia Day.

Better known for his keyboard skills onstage, Foals’ Edwin Congreave also enjoys jumping into a DJ booth. Don’t be fooled this is not just another band dude saying he can DJ, his sets aren’t just thrown together with any old tracks…

Expect more of an eclectic mix from Nineties math rock, Greek folk music, and Kompakt compilations to early Metronomy, Caribou and Nicolas Jaar all with a bit of an electro/disco vibe.

After Vampire Weekend’s touring schedule slowed down Baio locked himself away and honed his DJ mixing skills and released his debut solo EP, “Sunburn,” in, 2012. Drawing inspiration from trips to Mexico and electronic and dance music, the EP consists of 3 tracks smooth groovy tracks featuring steel drums and afrobeats.

If you’re a Foals and Vampire Weekend fan with an adventurous music appetite then Midnight Run is the place to be for a boogie after Melbourne’s Big Day Out!
