International Stoner Rockers will make their way to Australia to headline CherryRock013 on Sunday 5 May, the annual festival now in it’s 7th year will take place over two stages at the legendary Cherry Bar and AC/DC Lane.

Monoliths of modern Stoner Rock, Unida from the Californian desert and Truckfighters from Sweden will both play Australia for the first time as the co-headliners.

Unida will feature Kyuss lead singer John Garcia. After the original demise of Kyuss, Unida were together from 1998 to 2003, which included the release of the seminal stoner classic album  “Coping With The Urban Coyote.” Unida reformed in 2012 and Australian hard rock fans have only dreamed that Garcia and Unida would be seen on stage here. CherryRock013 makes stoner dreams come true.

Many agree that Truckfighters ‘Gravity X’ is the greatest stoner rock album of the past twenty years. And it comes from Orebro, Sweden! In the awesome 2011 Truckfighters ‘Fuzzomentary’ documentary film, QOTSA’s Josh Homme reflected upon Truckfighters with these exact words, “The best band that ever existed.”

Other bands confirmed for the coveted 14-act double-stage bill include King Parrot, Barbarion, Matt Sonic & the High Times, The Murlocs, Mammoth Mammoth, Gay Paris (Syd), The Surefire Midnights (Perth), Drunk Mums, Little Bastard (Syd), Working Horse Irons and Battle Axe Howlers.

Cherry co-owner and booker James Young reflects, “After Fu Manchu last year we talked about how we could possibly top that. So, we decided to bring out the two best stoner rock acts on the planet, both of whom have never played here before, and to significantly lower our ticket price too. Cos that’s how Cherry rolls…”
