In what can only be described as an absolute dream for any metal band, Thy Art Is Murder have signed a worldwide deal (ex-Aus/NZ, Canada) with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Formed in Germany in 1987, Nuclear Blast Entertainment are the world’s biggest Heavy-Metal and Extreme Music record label.

After a huge year which saw Thy Art Is Murder release their record breaking 2nd LP Hate (#35 ARIA debut), a last minute addition to the 2013 Big Day Out lineup and a music video which has clocked over 650,000 views, it was no surprise that word of Australia’s most extreme metal band had traveled across the globe.

The band were signed internationally by Monte Connor, head of Nuclear Blast Entertainment in the US and former Roadrunner A&R VP. In his previous role, Monte was responsible for signing the likes of Slipknot, Trivium, Coal Chamber, Soulfly and Stone Sour, among many other huge names in the metal world.

“I didn’t find Thy Art Is Murder, they found me!” Monte Connor explains, “After getting multiple calls and emails from various industry contacts telling me ‘you gotta hear this band!’ and seeing the online buzz at iTunes here in the U.S., it was very clear to me that something very real and organic was happening; this band was reacting massively all on their own.”

He continues, “I am proud to welcome Thy Art Is Murder as one of my first signings to Nuclear Blast Entertainment. I’ve signed some heavy bands over the years, but Thy Art Is Murder is sheer brutality of the highest and most extreme degree.”

Guitarist Andy Marsh went on to say, “Nuclear Blast has always represented the pinnacle of extreme metal, a last bastion in an ever evolving industry. To say we now share a label with the greatest extreme metal bands of all time is ridiculous. It was never a dream, it was impossible. But we’ve done it. The future will be heavy.”

‘Heavy’ is an understatement.

Hate will be released in the US and Europe early April via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, and is out now via Distort Entertainment (Canada) and HALFCUT (Australia & NZ). The band have also been announced aspart of the 2012 Push Over festival along with Amity Affliction, Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays and more.
