As the finishing touches are added to Sarah Blasko’s national ‘I Awake’ tour, excitement builds with shows in Sydney, Hobart and Brisbane verging on being sold out.

Taking in all states, Blasko will be joined by an orchestra in each capital city, rousing the beast that is I Awake and breathing new life into old favourites from previous albums.

Blasko is pleased to welcome Melbourne’s Wintercoats, aka one-man chamber pop orchestra James Wallace, as her special guest for the tour – taking in Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Having recently returned from an extensive European tour, including performances at Torstrassen Festival (Berlin) and Laboratorium Festival (Heidelberg, Germany), Wintercoats is fast earning a reputation for sweeping and idyllic vocal arrangements, partneredwith heavily reverbed string loops.

He was also hand selected by US dream-pop duo Beach House as main support on their Australian tour at the start of the year.

Perth fans are in for something extra special with revered trio The Necks joining the bill as main support.

With sixteen albums to their name, The Necks have long been seen as one of the great cult bands of Australia. Their reach extends far beyond these borders, having received shining reviews.

The ‘I Awake’ tour will see Blasko armed with the freedom to perform as grandly or as intimately as she desires, making these shows a must for both long-standing fans and Blasko converts. Fans in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth are urged to get in quick, with tickets selling fast.
