Another shake up of the Australian booking landscape occurred this morning, with management company Hub Artist Services announcing a Melbourne office that will also see the company launch a booking agency division, in addition to their management services, label, and touring.

Hub’s management division looks after a number of high profile Australian artists including Dappled Cities who are about to celebrate their 10th anniversary, and Washington who is busy preparing her new album.

Frankie Kimpton, previously of Premier Artists, will run the satellite office and concentrate on overseeing the touring activity for Hub clients, as well as operate a stand-alone boutique agency service.

“I’m very excited to have joined forces with the amazing team at Hub and to be involved in their growing presence in the Australian music industry,” Kimpton said.

“Furthermore, to be launching the Hub Touring arm with people who have such a passionate commitment to music, and everything involved in creating it, is something I’m really proud of.  It’s another branch in Hub’s inspired approach to providing super cool opportunities for artists and their careers.”

Adopting a similar strategy to their record label, the agency will function independently in the marketplace and non-exclusively to Hub’s existing clients. The current agency roster includes highly regarded artists such as Royal Blood, Kate Martin, Glass Towers, Buchanan, and Universal recording artist Neda.

Kimpton has confirmed that he has brought a number of his acts from Premier Artists across to the new venture, including Damn Terran, The Demon Parade, Kate Martin, Neda, and Them Bruins. Winter People and Glass Towers have also jumped ship to Hub from Premier, however both already had existing ties with Hub through their label and management divisions.

In addition, Kimpton has signed new acts The Hated, and House Of Laurence to the roster of his fledgling agency.

“It’s important for any contemporary Australian music company to have a presence in both Sydney & Melbourne, and we’re thrilled to have someone as highly regarded as Frankie to represent our artists in Melbourne,” said Hub owner and Managing Director Troy Barrott.

“For me, Frankie’s roster and approach represents the future, and mirrors our philosophy of uncovering and nurturing world-class Australian talent across our existing Management and Label businesses. Hub Touring will become a very important piece of the puzzle for us.”

The move follows a shake up at New World Artists earlier this year, after a spat with Crucial Music following 360’s departure from the agency saw them drop a number of high profile clients, including The Living End, Children Collide, Hunting Grounds, and Gyroscope.
