A little while ago, we announced that along with coming to Australia for the much anticipated Groovin’ The Moo festival where they”ll play alongside the likes of Tegan & Sara and The Bronx, UK popsters The Kooks would also be embarking on a headlining tour around the country.
Now, due to overwhelming demand, following the huge response from ticket sales last week, an extra Melbourne and Brisbane show have been added.
The Brighton band of boys are no strangers to Australia having appeared at Splendour In The Grass and 2011/2012 Falls Festival to much acclaim from their fans.
The four-piece also did a number of Falls sideshows including one at Melbourne’s Festival hall. Of the show, a Tone Deaf review said that the performance in early 2012 “showed off the group’s solid way with a song and a great understanding of melodic, guitar-based pop.”
The newly added shows are taking place at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Wednesday 1 May and the Tivoli in Brisbane on Tuesday 7 May, tickets to the new shows will go on sale Friday 22ndFebruary.
Tickets for all other shows are already selling incredibly fast, particularly along the East Coast, with Melbourne Palais Theatre selling out completely within 10 minutes of tickets going on sale.
Along with headline shows in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth, as well as their appearance on the nationally touring Groovin’ The Moo festival, The Kooks are on fire.
