Brisbane’s Cub Scouts had a rollercoaster ride in 2012, starting the year with their catchy ditty “Evie” taking over the airwaves solidifying their reputation in Australia and bookending the year with “Told You So” eclipsing that success and becoming a breakout hit on US college radio.

In between, the band toured nationally with the likes of Ball Park Music, Pluto Jonze and Loon Lake and won the Queensland Music Awards Song of the Year for their second single “Do You Hear”.

2013 sees the band with their sights set firmly overseas. January saw them peak at #16 on US college radio bible CMJ’s charts with well over 100 stations around the US spinning their breakout track “Told You So”, while the band were also selected to perform at seminal UK festival The Great Escape in May, with their new UK team working on their Spring tour, which will wind its way through the UK and Europe before the band heads across to the states for the first time.

The band’s first track since their breakout EP is Pool!, the perfect anthem for the US summer, with Australian audiences getting a sneak preview this February–the perfect wind-down from a busy festival season.

With Tim Nelson joined by bass player Zoe Davis on vocal duties and a hilarious video featuring the band’s amazing synchronized swimming skills, Pool!,is set to take the band even further around the world, showcasing the blend of indie party pop that fans can look forward to on their debut album, slated for release later this year.

The band will also hit the road on the east coast to support the release of Pool!, before heading abroad.
