Fresh from a stint in the studio and bursting to road-test her new songs, Courtney Barnett is hitting the road for her first ever headlining tour in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this March.

Courtney and her band The Courtney Barnetts will play with some of their favourite bands in Sydney (Pear Shape & Bec and Ben), Melbourne (Money For Rope & Atolls) and Brisbane (Grand Atlantic & Dom Miller).

The tour name Avant Gardener is inspired by an episode of anaphylactic shock that sent Courtney to hospital in December 2012, she was weeding her garden in the midst of a heatwave at the time.

The song of the same title will be available as a limited edition physical single to all those attending the shows.

triple j’s Dom Alessio wrote that “she’s surely in line to become Australia’s next queen of rock & roll”
