With the final touches and lineup additions made to the 10th anniversary of the West Coast Blues ‘n’ Roots now in place for its special 2013 weekend edition, punters have been pelting organisers with requests of the schedule for the impressive bill of local and international talent gracing the Western Australian event.
With the likes of Robert Plant, Paul Simon, Wilco, Counting Crows paired with domestic talent like Julia Stone, Ash Grunwald, and Brothers Grim it’s no wonder that organisers for the West Coast Blues ‘n’ Roots have been swamped with fans’ demands.
“Never in our 10 year history have we been so inundated with requests for the festival playtimes,” promoters said in a statement issued today. “We’ve literally had thousands of enquires – phone calls, emails and social media messaging from ticketholders who are eager to plan their weekend.”
In response they’ve knuckled down to provide the set times and produced their “most clash-friendly timetable yet,” they state proudly.
There is one unfulfilled spot on the lineup for ‘Breakthrough Winner’, reserved for an up and coming unsigned local act that will end up taking out the Blues ‘n’ Roots Competition.
Determined by fan and punter votes, the decision making begins from this morning (February 27th) with local bands encouraged to upload their tunes to Sonicbids. “From there,” state organisers, “three finalists will be chosen to battle it out in a live final, judged by a panel of industry experts at Mojo’s Bar in Fremantle on Wednesday 13th March.”
With a whole month to go until its kick-off at Fremantle Park, the playing times are a result of months and months of planning and organisation. All you have to do now is grab those magic markers, and get circling!
