With a new EP set for release in mid 2013, Melbourne five piece Dirt Farmer reveal new single ‘Delilah Lightning’.

Infused with a languid, lazy charm, ‘Delilah Lightning’ is a slacker-pop anthem that descends into a glorious fuzz of guitar noise. Engineer and producer Anna Laverty (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Florence & the Machine) was moved so much by the song that she shed a tear, stating that “‘devil magic made its way into the guitars”’.

Catch Dirt Farmer launch ‘Delilah Lightning’ at The Boogie 7 Festival in Tallarook between Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March, Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne on Friday 12 April, and upstairs at the Beresford Hotel in Sydney on Friday 10 May.

‘Delilah Lightning’ follows the release of Dirt Farmer’s 2012 debut self-titled EP, which featured singles ‘Johnny Marble’, ‘Real Young’ and ‘Kick It’. The debut EP has garnered critical praise from the likes of Mess+Noise (“decidedly winsome”), All I Do Is Listen (“brilliant”) and Beat Magazine (“perfect”).

After winning nods of approval from community radio and the blogosphere for their breezy, slacker pop sound, and picking up some spins on triple j, Dirt Farmer were recently announced as one of the top 50 played artists on triple j unearthed. The past year has also seen the band play with the likes of Husky, Alpine, The Paper Kites, The Rubens, The Trouble with Templeton and Caitlin Park.

Dirt Farmer – ‘Delilah Lightning’ will be released on iTunes via Gaga Digital on March 4 2013.
