Niche Productions is thrilled to present the first-ever Australian live headline concerts by Soul Music and RnB legend Bobby Womack with his thirteen piece band.

Starting his career in the sixties with The Valentinos and as guitarist for Sam Cooke, Bobby Womack has written and recorded some of the world’s biggest hits including The Rolling Stones’ ‘It’s All Over Now,’ with his career enjoying so many resurgences thanks to his timeless appeal.

Other classic material from the era includes collaborations with Aretha Franklin, George Benson (‘Breezin’), Janis Joplin (‘Trust Me’), Sly & The Family Stone (‘There’s A Riot Goin’ On’), Ray Charles, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle and Marvin Gaye as well as his own soundtrack to the film ‘Across 110th Street,’ whose title track would be later used as the theme song to Quentin Tarantino’s film ‘Jackie Brown.’
In 2010, one year after he was inducted in to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Bobby Womack reappeared as a performing and touring member of the most recent incarnation of Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz project. The single ‘Stylo’, with its incredible video clip featuring Bruce Willis would thrust Womack back in to the spotlight and set the scene for his comeback record, 2012’s The Bravest Man In The Universe.

Produced and co-written by Albarn and Richard Russell and featuring a superb duet with Lana Del Rey in ‘Dayglo Reflection,’ ‘The Bravest Man…’ garnered four star reviews from The Gaurdian and also polled favourably with NME and the Chicago Tribune.

Appearing in Australia for the very first time for his own headline shows at some of the country’s most prestigious venues, Bobby Womack’s debut headline performances will be realised with all of the majesty that this exceptional talent deserves and Australian audiences expect.

Do not miss the chance to see a living legend performing songs from one of the greatest catalogues in Soul Music history with a thirteen piece band.
