Before embarking on a UK tour in May as part of the massive Great Escape Festival and music conference, Melbourne lads Neighbourhood Youth will be cutting their teeth on Australia’s east coast this April in support of their latest single ‘My Friends’.

The seemingly benign song title belies a song bursting with aggression and intensity that is surely their heaviest, catchiest and most accomplished track to date.

The band kick off the tour in Sydney on April 5th making stops in capital cities and Melbourne, Brisbane and a little of regional Victoria in Geelong and Werribee, giving Australian audiences their last chance to catch the band’s phenomenal live show before they head overseas to play one of Europe’s largest musical showcases.

All of this comes on the back of recent success on the airwaves with their last single ‘Holiday’ – taken from the 5-track EP of the same name – receiving several spins nationally on Triple J as well as solid support from other community radio stations including Melbourne’s 3RRR and SYN.

The new single ‘My Friends’ will be officially launched with a video at the Toff in Town in Melbourne on Saturday 13 April.
