Ahead of the forthcoming Australian leg of The Beards First World Tour the facially hirsute quartet have announced the support acts that will joining them on the road this May and June.

For all shows except Adelaide main support will come from Sydney cow-punk string septet Little Bastard, opening band for all shows other than Western Australia and South Australia will be Tasmanian up-and-comers Enola Fall.

Little Bastard incorporate mandolin, banjo and fiddle, over the top of a pulsating upbeat acoustic rhythm, their live performances create the turbulence of Old Crow Medicine Show but can also hold the brutal sentiment of The Felice Brothers, all delivered with a brash clout all their own. Come early as these Bastards are sure to get you dancing, dishevelled and disorderly.

Enola Fall began life in 2005, an amalgamation of several indie bands playing around Hobart’s small clubs and foggy bars. Since then the band has slowly coalesced into its current form through a couple of line-up changes, experimental EPs and even a stint in the UK. new EP Suburban Lovers. Enola Fall’s brand new EP Suburban Lovers was produced by Lachlan Mitchell (The Jezabels, Something with Numbers) the EP is the follow up to the 2012 collection Isolationist, and 2011 EP I am an Aerial.

The USA, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, England and Scotland are amongst a list of first-world countries that can expect a visit this year from the kings of totalitarian beard-rock: The Beards. ‘The First World Tour’ will take in a series of relatively well-off countries, including a run of shows in the group’s homeland, Australia.

“People living in developed countries are more susceptible to shaving.” Said the band’s frontman, Johann Beardraven. “They are a high risk group, so it’s important for our message to reach them before it’s too late.”

The First World Tour will mark the first time The Beards have ever played in Europe with shows scheduled across the UK, Germany and Holland. It will also be the band’s first time in North America since performing at the opening ceremony of the 2009 World Beard & Moustache Championships in Anchorage, Alaska.

“Our job is not done yet, and we will not rest until all people have beards.” Said bassist Nathaniel Beard.
