The Red Paintings are currently gearing up to launch a series of innovative new stage shows for The Revolution Is Never Coming Australian release, which begins in June 2013.

Known for their incredible live performances, the band are bringing their ‘You’re Not One Of Them’ tour to Australia in June, following the recent release of their new single & video.

The unique show is the first of four incredible stage shows the band will tour around the world in support of their album, with each tour featuring a different and even more ambitious spectacle.

Based between Australia and Los Angeles, The Red Paintings are a five-piece orchestral art rock group (guitar, bass, drums, piano, cello & violin) who incorporate themed costumed stage shows, live art, visual projections and human canvases to create a truly unique art experience in real time that reflects the band’s music and energy.

Currently playing sold out shows across the US (as main support for punk group Mindless Self Indulgence) and the UK (with prog rockers The Pineapple Thief), as well as coming off their own 40-date tour across the UK, Europe and USA, they now return to Australia ahead of the release of their much-anticipated album The Revolution Is Never Coming in June.

The band is on the lookout for artists and human canvases to be part of their creative circus.

Artists are sourced with the aim of finding struggling but talented painters and providing them with a new platform to showcase their work.

‘’As most bands now create social blogs of their tour experiences, The Red Paintings create real time art works to share the energy of each show with their fan base and tell the history of the band – a fragment of time that fits the moment’’ – Trash McSweeney

Through the donation and support of their fans the band raised the funds to create their highly anticipated full-length album. The Revolution Is Never Coming showcases the band’s ambitious musical, social, political and creative themes across 13 tracks and includes a 35-piece orchestra, 22-piece choir, harps, theremin and more. The results speak for themselves.

The album’s incredible sound evokes everything from child-like lullabies of the future, to tearing, biting, alternative-rock numbers. The record has been compared to multi-faceted acts like Radiohead, Coheed and Cambria, Biffy Clyro, Trail of Dead, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse and Brand New.

The album was also one of the last to be mixed by the late Bryan Colstrum (Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie) who stated: “In my entire 30 year career I’ve not mixed such a diverse, colourful and emotionally dynamic album such as this. It’s like a 21st century War of the Worlds.”

The band has been touring themed stage shows relentlessly across the world off the back of four previous EP releases. They have been handpicked as supports worldwide with like-minded acts such as Scottish post-rockers MOGWAI, “punk cabaret” duo The Dresden Dolls, American poet Saul Williams, The Posies and Atari Teenage Riot.

With their diverse history and cult following, The Red Paintings’ have stepped into 2013 with a cutting edge debut-album, a highly praised innovative live performance, and die-hard fans (who Trash says are “the best on the planet”). It truly looks as though the future is now for the band.

The Revolution Is Never Comingis in Australian stores through Bird’s Robe Records/MGM Distribution June 7th 2013, with international release details to follow through The End Records (The Prodigy, Fat Boy Slim, The Dandy Warhols).
