Thelma Plum has been gaining in national notoriety over the last twelve months, casting a spell across all in her path. The 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Brisbane recently let her debut EP Rosie into the world, featuring the songs ‘Around Here’, ‘Father Said’, and now, ‘Dollar’ – all worming their way into the hearts and ears of listeners across the country.

Now she’s set to embark on her first national tour with dates around the country this July.

“Think Thelma Plum is just another Aussie twanged, indie folk darling writing cute songs?” questioned our Tone Deaf writer in their review of Rose, “Think again. This six-track release is full of infectious melodies, clever lyrics and well-thought out orchestration.”

Plum has blossomed beautifully since the homemade demo of ‘Father Said’ made a quiet splash on Triple J Unearthed. Thelma Plum then rode the buz to record her debut EP with Tony Buchen (John Butler/Washington) in late 2012.

Gently sharing Rosie with lovers of Australian music, to say Thelma has been embraced is an understatement. She has gone on to win a Deadly award for best emerging talent and with her exquisite acoustic sets, she has earned opening slots on national tours for Bob Evans and Emma Louise and is keenly sought after for festival slots at Bleach*, St Kilda, Woodford Folk Festivals, and jam packed her tent at Bluesfest in April.

Currently performing as an acoustic duo with her mate Andrew Lowden the Rosie Tour is a rare chance to experience the intimacy of the songs before Thelma brings the band on the road.

Thelma’s first headline national tour to celebrate the Rosie EP will wind its way around Australia in July – fall in to the special magic place that is Thelma Plum.
