In the midst of releasing their debut LP Open Season earlier this year, Sydney via NYC duo High Highs returned to their motherland for Laneway Festival 2013 and also squeezed in two intimate headline appearances.

Now, the pair return to Australian stages this June, bringing their dream-pop soundscapes to Oxford Art Factory and The Toff in Town, in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

After relocating to Brooklyn a few years back, High Highs have caused a stir worldwide with their harmony-laden indie pop. Open Season has resonated strongly with fans and critics alike, with Australians particularly singing their praises.

After wrapping up their current US tour supporting Vampire Weekend, upon arrival to our shores, High Highs will also take to the stage at Vivid LIVE 2013, opening for Empire of the Sun’s long awaited return to the stage.

As for what to expect of High Highs’ dreamy live show, band member Oli Chang – speaking to Tone Deaf in an interview earlier this year – tells fans to expect “big washes of luscious sounds in between songs” and for it to be “very minimal… but also layered. Even though at times it can be very intimate, with almost just guitar and vocals,” he continues. “There’s a lot of scope for it to build and have a lot of dynamic range.”

If you’re yet to see High Highs bring their dreamy debut to life, now is the time.
