Prohibition Era Photo Outs Jay-Z As Time Travelling Vampire

If you ever needed more proof that Jay-Z was entirely amazing and probably had magical powers, this newly released photo might be it. The image in question is of a man leaning on a stoop in Harlem taken in 1939, and the flat-capped dude bears a striking resemblance to the ’99 Problems’ rapper. By which we mean, it’s obviously Jay himself and we finally have  evidence that time travellers are real.

Do you miss The Office‘s David Brent as much as we do? Well never fear! Everyone’s favourite (ex-)paper salesman is back and while he may be a little slimmer, he’s no less hilarious. In this newly released teaser video, Brent promises to teach you all you could ever wish to know about music. The first official episode will come out on May 20th and the teaser can we watched here. All together now, “if you dont’ know me my noooooowww!”

Pigeon Record Daft Punk Medley For Wee Waa Launch

To celebrate the release of Daft Punk’s new album Random Access Memories, Queensland band Pigeon have put together a medley of Daft Punk hits including some of their personal favourites. “This is our tip of the hat to the accomplished French producers,” they say, and they hope their medley (which includes six songs in nine minutes) will be a nostalgic journey for enthusiasts of the group and proof that robots are still super cool.

The Town Where Dancing Is Illegal

Ya’ll thought Footloose was fiction? Well apparantly not. A district in Tokyo, which is known for its bustling nightlife has made it a crime to publicly dance past a certain hour. Under Japan’s strict adult entertainment laws, it’s illegal for this nightclub to let anyone dance after 1am in the Ginza District the ABC reports. No word yet on whether or not Kevin Bacon has been alerted.

Ever been caught talking to a person who describes their favourite kind of music as “djent-infused, neo-progressive cowpunk” and had no idea what they were talking about? Well there’s now a website that solves that problem! Creator Glenn MacDonald describes his site as “an algorithmically-generated non-analytical map of the musical genre-space. ” Basically what that means is it’s an interactive music mind-map that gives audio examples of a web of music genres, no matter how obscure. The Italian record producer, who before working with a certain Parisian pair was famous for producing soul-infused dico records for Donna Summer, has now penned the theme song to a Google Chrome game. Karaoke Gaspump Couple Will Brighten Your Day

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno have a regular segment called ‘Pumpcast News’  in which they prank unsuspecting motorists at gas stations. The joke was soon on Leno’s team when the latest enthusiastic couple they targeted both ended up smashing their karaoke renditions of 80s classics. This will warm your heart and remind you, that even though Team CoCo is no more, Jay Leno is still easy to hate.
