Following the band’s recent headline tour of America, Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes return home to embark on a leisurely ‘Walk Of Shame’ (or stride of pride) around Australia, including an appearance at Splendour in the Grass.
Armed with some new songs (including a limited edition 7” vinyl of their new song ‘Walk of Shame’) and a well-oiled machine of a show, the band are very excited to reveal some new material to the homeland, along with all the shimmery vocal harmonies, soul claps, choreography, horns and Clairy’s huge voice slapping you about the face.
The noir meets Motown stylings of the group also scored them first place in the Adult Album Alternative (AAA) category of the 2012 International Songwriting Competition (ISC), awarded for their song”Love Letter;” Taken from their simmering debut album Baby Caught The Bus, the single has found great success in America as the 60-inspired soundtrack to a popular Heineken advert.
Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes also signed to US label Vanguard in February before setting off on a 26 stop North American Tour, with a new album expected to be released on 21st May, a definite omen of a successful 2013.
