Hip shoe makers, Converse have announced a new free concert series, the Converse Get Loud Gigs, trotting through five cities and showcasing performances from 12 of the nation’s most exciting emerging music talent and international artists.

The series kick starts on Thursday 13th June in Sydney with a live show from the ever-enthusiastic The King Khan and BBQ show, as well as local garage gringoes Palms. Adelaide will play host to more frazzled rock tunes spun by Drunk Mums, Gung Ho, and Bad//Dreemz on Friday 21st June, then Melbourne sees Brisbane’s Millions teaming up with locals Scotdrakula for their headline show on Saturday 22nd June.

More cross-country swaps for the following weekend where Geelong alumni The Murlocs and Tiny Ruins play with Sydney’s The Laurels, topping the bill in Brisbane on Friday 28th June, and the dynamic garage duo DZ Deathrays rock with Ham Jam and Doctopus in Perth on Saturday 29th June.

The Get Loud concert series follows on from last year’s successful Acts Of Disruption tour, where the likes of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard played a disused Mental Hospital in Sydney, Royal Headache rocking a Muay Thai Gym in Brisbane, and Bleeding Knees Club played in dilapidated Melbourne venue, The Normandy Hotel, which our Tone Deaf reviewer said stood ” derelict on a desolate Clifton Hill corner like an old crone,” in a raucous, sweat-fuelled show.

This year’s Converse Get Loud gigs are to be held in equally memorable locations, but full details are yet to be announced.

Tickets for GET LOUD events are free of charge and available exclusively via RSVP on the Converse Australia Facebook page: facebook.com/converseaustralia or through www.converse.com.au/getloud
