Being the downtime for festivals in the Australian music calendar, with summer’s heavy schedule fading into the warm glow of the past and Splendour’s July showing still a ways off, minds begins to turn to some of the bigger music festivals towards year-end, and with it the inevitable lineup speculation.

Already, some loose lips have leaked lineups ahead of schedule, with Laneway 2014’s first act already likely to have been revealed, while the reunion of lo-fi folk pioneers Neutral Milk Hotel brought with it confirmation that they are the first band announced for the Harvest 2013 lineup.

Now, another musical group has let slip that they’re likely to appear as one of the first bands announced for Parklife 2013.

First drawing attention for their lush single ‘Latch’, especially Down Under where the Sam Smith-featuring tune landed in at #21 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 in January, UK’s Disclosure are easily one of the year’s hottest electronic acts.

Guy Lawrence, one half of the production duo and electronic music makers with his brother Howard, has let slip that Australian fans will most likely catch the band’s live show as part of Parklife 2013.

In an interview with the Herald Sun‘s Mikey Cahill, Lawrence was asked about any intended plans to tour Australia, to which he disclosed: “I think we’re doing Parklife. Has that been announced yet? Oh. Well if you’re nice you won’t put that in.” Cahill then took to twitter to announce the news:

Though Parklife organisers have yet to announce any plans for their 2013 edition, let alone the lineup, another interview disclosed that the festival could be happening in September; with Stoney Roads speaking to the other Lawrence brother, Howard, who echoed his sibling’s slip of a forthcoming Australian visit.

“Yeah, I think we’re back in September,” said Lawrence. “I might be wrong about that, I’m not sure. But we’re definitely back this year anyway.”

September/October is usually when Parklife takes place, and an appearance on the festival bill is not only a snug fit for the electronic duo but also likely considering Parklife promoters, Fuzzy, brought the duo to Australia in January for their other annual music festival, Field Day.

Parklife took place in early October last year with a lineup that featured Passion Pit, The Presets, Plan B, Nero, Robyn, and Chairlift, as well as pre-Lonerism conquering Tame Impala, eventual AMP award winners Hermitude, and then-emerging Sydney producer Harley Streten, aka Aussie superstar Flume.

Our Tone Deaf reviewer of the Melbourne leg of Parklife 2012 said “it provided the very foundations an amazing festival should: good people, good music, and good fun”

The Lonon-based Disclosure recently released their new single ‘White Noise’ (which features fellow UK buzz band AlunaGeorge) ahead of their debut album, Settle, due June 3rd, which features an impressive guest list of emerging UK talent, including Jessie Ware, Eliza Doolittle, and Jamie Woon. “The Lawrence brothers have got impeccable pop sensibility embedded in their genetic fibre,” wrote our Tone Deaf reviewer of the release. “This age-old, fool-proof formula of a throbbing club beat and standout pop vocals is executed to precision.”
