One of the most exciting Australian rock bands currently going, Kingswood last week announced a new Tarantino inspired Spaghetti Western short film, evolved from the music video for their latest single ‘Ohio’, and now the Melbourne quartet have released the 10-minute short film.

Some Motherfucker’s Gotta Pay is a gory story not for the feint of heart, “it’s got humour, a heist and lots of bloodshed,” tease the band.

Shot in and around Sydney and rural New South Wales by young film crew Wonderworld Films, Some Motherfucker’s Gotta Pay is a slick tribute to B-movie cinema that stars Kingswood as well as a host of emerging Australian musicians and bands.

The mini-epic features cameos from Seth Sentry, Thelma Plum, Kira Puru, cult surf legend Reg Mombassa. Some Motherfucker’s Gotta Pay also stars legendary Sydney pub The Annandale, along with former owner Dan Rule and unofficial house band, Sydney’s Sticky Fingers.

The band are also currently on a massive national tour, checking in this week to the Annadale, revisiting where much of Some Motherfucker’s Gotta Pay was shot, on top of that they have just announced a second headline show at the Corner Hotel for 17th July, making it two nights for two with their 18th July appearance – forming part of the Leaps And Bounds Festival.

Kingswood’s current trek comes off the back of their deluxe EP Change Of Heart, which our Tone Deaf reviewer awarded a 8/10 score, saying it “hit the nail on the head… [its’] both punchy and polished.”

Kingswood have just wrapped up a support slot with Aerosmith and completed a tour with Aussie rock veterans, Grinspoon, which claimed equally high praise from fans and crtitics alike. In their hometown show they delivered a “high octane, high energy, speaker shaking and spontaneous set,” according to our reviewer, while another writer proclaimed: “Grinspoon fans were blown away by Kingswood and they’ve great potential to make their mark on the Aussie rock scene… Kingswood is simply the real deal.

These dates will be the last run of Australian shows before Kingswood head overseas to the US to record their anticipated debut album in Nashville, Tennessee. So watch Some Motherfucker’s Gotta Pay in its full gory glory below, then grab yourself a ticket!
