2012’s biggest breakthrough artist, Grammy winner FRANK OCEAN will hit the stage for his very first Australian headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this July, following the announcement of his headline appearance at Splendour In The Grass.

After selling out Sydney and Melbourne headline Splendour sideshows in mere minutes, Frank Ocean will play one last show on his debut tour of Australia on Thursday July 25 at Festival Hall, Melbourne with no more dates to be announced.

Anticipation for 25-year-old Odd Future associate’s arrival to Australia has been at fever pitch ever since the singer cancelled his appearance for Future Music Festival last year so that he could focus on promoting his major-label debut, Channel Orange. The album eventually landed Ocean two major gongs at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Channel Orange also debuted at #2 on the US Billboard Chart and the UK Albums Chart, landed #9 on the ARIA Charts and certified Gold in all three countries. It also brought Ocean the BRIT Award for International Male Artist 2013, the Soul Train Album of the Year award and the MTV Award for Man of the Year. Last month Time Magazine named Ocean in its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People.

Ocean also revealed on the Grammys red carpet earlier this year, as Billboard reports, that he’s begun work on the follow-up to Channel Orange, saying he’s “knee-deep in the next record. [I’m] just taking my time with it.”
