As Negron says “times have changed in the music industry and trying to produce an album on your own is very costly.Often the project gets shelved and is never released due to lack of funding.”

Help Celebrate Video Game Soundtracks

Music and sound design is can really bring video games to life. We’ve come a very long way since the early electronic bleeps of the first home consoles, and the games produced today boast stunning surround sound and fully orchestral scores that rival anything found in the movies. But for whatever reason, it’s not really celebrated as such.

Rik Elde wants to change that though. He’s got some of the best gaming composers in the world together to in the hopes of making an album that will celebrate the history od the audio of gaming. He’s got the people behind the likes of Gears of War, Myst 3, World of Warcraft, Wipeout, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Gran Tursimo, Mortal Kombat, Populous, GoldenEye 007 and even Sensible World of Soccer, involved, so you know it’s good.

Should you pledge, you’ll receive a special copy of the finished pieces, your name in the liner notes,  a VIP ticket to the launch, and more.
