By the end of every week there are a bunch of music-related stories, cool links, videos, and other internet ditties that we haven’t managed to get to throughout the week.

As a remedy to this, we’re happy to introduce our column Trash Can – our avenue for sharing cool music tidbits we’ve come across for you to nibble on before the glory of the weekend. Dig in!

iPods Visualised As Vinyl

Ever wondered what your digital music collection would look like if were all laid out for you in a visual format? Look no further! Some clever dudes at Concerthotels.com have made a visual representation of how much music an iPod can really hold. A 160GB iPod holds roughly 40,000 songs and weighs a third of a pound, but if you owned all those tunes on vinyl, you’d be looking at roughly 3,180 LPs weight approximately 1,400 pounds. Check out the visual representation here.

Watch An Eminem-Inspired Bridesmaid Toast

Coolest. Maid of honour. Ever. After the formalities of a wedding toast, Jennifer Gabrielli decided the most appropriate thing she could do for the bride/her sister and his new hubby was to change the lyrics to Eminem’s ‘Without Me’ in a tribute to the newlywed couple. Despite the overwhelming awesomeness, it’s pertinent to mention that the girl got flow. (via NY Daily News)

Ex- Groupon CEO Releases  Album Of “Motivational Business” Music

After a super public firing as CEO of Groupon, Andrew Mason decided now was the perfect time to work on an album reports The Wall Street Journal. But don’t worry, he hasn’t lost his business mind. The appropriately titled Hardly Workin’ has been described as “motivational business music” targeted at young people entering the workplace. Track names include “The Way To Work,” “Risin’ Above The Pack”, and “My Door Is Always Open.”  The album is available now on iTunes, and has all the hilarity of David Brent’s tunes but is potentially even more awkward and sad.

Morrissey Reviewed The Sex Pistols For NME When He Was 17

Legend has it that most everyone who attended a very special and intimate Sex Pistols show in 1976 went on to form a band. As Dangerous Minds reports, attendees included future members of Joy Division/New Order, The Fall, A Certain Ratio, Simply Red, Buzzcocks/Magazine, Factory Records founder Tony Wilson, and producer Martin Hannett. It’s recently come to light though, that another famously contrarian Manchester boy was there, and was clearly the only one who didn’t dig it. In a letter to the editor of NME Morrissey wrote that the music of the Pistols was “discordant” and full of “barely audible audacious lyrics.” He concludes by stating he’s a fan though and “would love to see The Sex Pistols make it. Maybe then they will be able to afford some clothes which don’t look as though they’ve been slept in.” Ouch. Check out the not-so-charming man’s full letter here.

Vampire Weekend, First Aid Kit, Vaccines & Mumford & Sons Cover The Beatles At Glasto

There are certain moments that make a night, or a year, or maybe your youth and we think for those lucky punters at Glastonbury, all three would have been the case when they witnessed the beauty that was one of the best modern-day Beatles covers ever seen. With Vampire Weekend on horns (with a vocal cameo by Ezra Koenig), First Aid Kit on backing vocals, Mumford & Sons on lead, and The Vaccines spread out across the stage, their rendition of ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ truly was a sight to see. Check out the video and tell us otherwise.
