As Australia’s Queen of Rock, Adalita stole hearts and ears with her self-titled 2011 debut solo album. Stark, reductive, and emotive, it marked Adalita Srsn’s graduation from ‘frontwoman of Magic Dirt’ to much more, respect and adoration capitalised in the critical acclaim she received in the highly coveted AIR Award win for Best Independent Album for Adalita.

Two years on and the artist is set to pinch our collective breathe once more with the forthcoming release of her second solo album, and its lead single ‘All Day Venus’, as well as announcing her first headline shows in some time with the announcement of an East Coast Tour.

Lucky fans catching the Liberation Music-presented tour will be among the first to hear material from Adalita’s highly anticipated album, playing shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane this August.

‘All Day Venus’, the first taste of her new album, harkens back to Adalita’s formative days in Magic Dirt, intoning a similar rock spiri and spunky attack, but mixed with the mature, eloquent lyrics that provided such insight on her solo debut. Guitars lift and up and add the to swagger of the tune, as Adalita gives a typically rousing performance.

Lifted from the as-yet-untitled new record, ‘All Day Venus’ showcases the production work of Lindsay Gravina, who worked with Adalita on recordings at Melbourne’s Birdland Studios earlier in the year, while the rock singer herself is currently hard at work putting the finishing touches on what is sure to be one of the landmark local releases of the year.

“I’m in the middle of mixing the new album but it’s time to hear a new song and it’s time to play,” says Adalita. “The first track, ‘All Day Venus’, is a good indication of how the rest of the album is going to sound. Louder, basically.”

“I’m heading up the East Coast for three solo shows in early August to road test the new songs in solo mode,” she adds. “I’m super excited and I really can’t wait.”

Album details will be available in the coming weeks, but wrap your ears around ‘All Day Venus’ and your eyes around Adalita’s exclusive headline show dates below.
