Brisbane’s biggest all-ages music festival programmed FOR young people BY young people unveils its 2013 lineup today, focusing on the best emerging talent the city has to offer.

Bringing together some of the biggest buzz bands from the local underground with national favourites including Jeremy Neale, Pigeon and Go Violets, 4 Walls hits the Qld Academy of Creative Industries on 3rd August across three huge stages.  Today, 4 Walls announced the addition of much beloved Brisbane indie-pop band Cub Scouts to headline the already formidable bill, making the lineup a showcase of the premier acts of the independent Brisbane music scene

“Brisbane has local talent that is envied internationally,” said programmer Gonzalo Rodrino. “With three events under our belt, we thought that it was time that we celebrated the talent in our own backyard with a lineup that’s going to satisfy those that want some tracks they’ve heard on the radio as well as some new bands that fans can walk away knowing they discovered before anyone else.”

The event will provide not just live music, but DJs, chill out spaces, food and drink in a full-day event that’s one of the best value days out on the all-ages calendar.

Facilitated within the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries, Youth Music Industries (YMI) provides a framework for young people in the music industry to perform, record, publish and broadcast. The idea is not to “simulate” the real world but simply to be the real world; 4 Walls is just one project where YMI students combine not only to learn, but to provide an opportunity for others to experience the music industry.
