With their latest single ‘Endless Drain’ smashing blog networks internationally and radio airwaves here at home, Brisbane band Major Leagues have decided to announce their first ever string of interstate shows to celebrate the track’s release.

Drowning in fuzz and feedback, Major Leagues channel bands like The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr, and My Bloody Valentine, while their pop sensibilities nod more to the melodies of 60s surf and garage-pop.

Recorded with Sean Cook (formerly of Yves Klein Blue), mixed by Miro Mackie (Little Scout), and produced by Timothy Morrissey (John Steel Singers), ‘Endless Drain’ has triggered instant elation from listeners and critics across the globe through radio airplay and the blogosphere picking up the track with equal fervour.

‘Endless Drain’ was also featured in a recent Tone Deaf mixtape, proclaiming Major Leagues as “like Best Coast doused in sugar… taking their cue from the likes of Velociraptor and The Keep On Dancin’s, channelling 60s harmonies with a rougher, funner edge –  a great local band that will have you reaching for your favourite Ya La Tengo record.”

The recent Triple J Unearthed feature artists have been steadily building hype over the last 12 months via constant shows, parties and support slots for the likes of Ball Park Music, Wild Nothing, Violent Soho, Velociraptor, Cub Scouts, Bleeding Knees Club, and Loon Lake.

Their forthcoming single tour will see Major Leagues deliver their unique brand of fuzz-laden garage pop to interstate audiences, with multiple dates confirmed in both Melbourne and Sydney including performances supporting Sydney trio Bloods on their Golden Fang EP release tour.

‘Endless Drain’ is available to purchase now via iTunes, and as a free download from the band’s Triple J Unearthed page
