Melbourne shape-shifters The Tiger & Me have been making quite the name for themselves, with the six piece touring their mix of jazz-inflected, cabaret-worthy, folk-inspired music-making around the country off the back of a string of several critically acclaimed releases.

Now the sextet have a brand new single in ‘Jack Middle of the Broken Heart’, a track lifted from the group’s second full length album The Drifter’s Dawn.

Released under ABC Music imprint Four | Four and produced by Steven Schram (Little Birdy, The Cat Empire, San Cisco), The Tiger & Me’s second LP is a mix of “endearing, eclectic folk pop,” according to our Tone Deaf reviewer, who awarded the album a 7.5/10 score and called it an “accomplished and enjoyable record.”

Featuring a narrative about a modern day Bonnie and Clyde, ‘Jack Middle of the Broken Heart’ features slinky bass, driving guitars, and the band’s cohesive way with mood and melody. Included as the single’s B-side is a much smokier version of the tune recorded by the band before the Drifter’s sessions.

In support of their new single, The Tiger & Me are ready to get their show on the road once again, with a string of live dates, including a few special live recordings at select shows and support from the likes of The Nymphs (featuring The Tiger & Me’s Jane Hendry in its lineup), The Bearded Gypsy Band, and Stone Monks and Drew Harris.
