One of Australia’s biggest celebrations of musicians and bands crafting progressive music, featuring a mix of prog, post-rock, psych, art rock, metal and all sonic permutations in between, Progfest annually takes over Melbourne’s Espy to showcase artists who challenge themselves and their audience.

Headlining this year’s event on Saturday 24 August across all three Espy stages is Australia’s pre-eminent instrumental post rockers Sleepmakewaves from Sydney and progressive metalheads Voyager from Perth. Both bands of musical vision and depth that should not be missed!

Joining them will be a huge array of bands including: Caligula’s Horse, Mushroom Giant, Glass Empire, A Lonely Crowd, Toehider, Alithia, Rise Of Avernus, The Black Galaxy Experience, Troldhaugen, Bear The Mammoth, Anarion, Rainbird, Motionless Me, Full Code, Orsome Welles, The Nest Itself, Nihl, Cat Or Pillar, Citrus Jam, Phil Para Band & more to be announced!

After the birth of Profest in Melbourne in late 2008, the event slowly travelled around the country over the next 12 months with subsequent events taking place in Sydney, Canberra & Brisbane. Continually building momentum with each show, and Progfest 2013 looks set to continue the legacy!

Tickets $24+bf available via www.espy.com.au and all Oztix outlets. On sale Wednesday 17 July.
