The Kvelertak Australian Tour 2013 has been announced and the Norwegian six-piece are ready to deliver their pummelling brand of heavy rock into the ears and faces of Australian audiences this September in a tour presented by Soundwave Touring.

Blending elements of metal, punk, hardcore rock and more to spectacular restuls, Kvelertak are not only of Norway’s leading bands, but are an in possession of an impossible-to-ignore live show that showcases all the best qualities of a full-blooded rock show.

This will be Kvelertak’s first Australian shows since playing Soundwave 2012 and a pair of sideshows supporting the mighty prog-leaning Mastodon and French metal titans Gojira to rave reviews.

The forthcoming September shows are also Kvelertak’s first since releasing Meir, which follows on from their 2010 eponymous debut. At the 39th Spellemann Awards, Norway’s highest music honours, the six-piece took out the Best Newcomer and Best Rock categories.

After selling over 15,000 copies of Kvelertak and earning gold status, the band were presented with a gold record from none other than Dave Grohl while the band were supporting the Foo Fighters in front of a 22,000-strong audience at a hometown show at the Telenor Arena in Oslo, Norway last month, as Blabbermouth reports.

If it’s good enough for Grohl, it’s certainly good enough for anyone with a lick of rock in ’em. Don’t miss Kvelertak on their headline September tour. Tickets on sale August 1st.
