The Laura Imbruglia Australian Tour 2013 has been announced and fresh from hitting stages around the country with her band in support of her critically acclaimed new album What a Treat, Laura Imbruglia is doing a spate of intimate bare bones solo shows.
Having spent the first five years of her career playing shows with only her guitar to accompany her, Imbruglia is looking forward to reacquainting herself with her old mate.
First up, she’ll be undertaking an exclusive residency at The Spotted Mallard (in Melbourne’s Brunswick) every Tuesday in August, supported by extremely talented friends: Ladie Dee (Howl At The Moon), Alyx Dennison (ex-kyu), Ben Mason (ex- Smallgoods) and Bob Harrow (Immigrant Union). Said talented friends will also be guesting on a few songs with Laura, promising a different set each week and some gorgeous harmonies to warm your heart cockles.
In addition to the residency, Laura will also be playing a run of shows in regional Victoria supporting old buddy Bob Evans, who she toured with way back in 2006. Being reasonably new to living in Melbourne, this will be the first time Imbruglia has visited a lot of these towns and will offer regional fans a rare opportunity to see the city slicker in their neighbourhood.
