By the end of every week there are a bunch of music-related stories, cool links, videos, and other internet ditties that we haven’t managed to get to throughout the week.

As a remedy to this, we’re happy to introduce our new column Trash Can– our avenue for sharing cool music tidbits we’ve come across for you to nibble on before the glory of the weekend. Dig in!

Bill Clinton Sings ‘Blurred Lines’

Because he’s probably the only former president that’s associated with sex on a daily basis, someone’s taken the time to make a composite video of Clinton ‘singing’ Robin Thicke’s sexy hit. Weirdly, his disjointed southern drawl somehow manages to make the song even funkier. And no, Clinton doesn’t bust into a sax solo, unfortunately.

Typography Is Super Important To Sufjan Stevens

We all know how important font is to rock ‘n’ roll, right? Yeah, okay… maybe that one’s a stretch for most. but not for indie rocker Sufjan Stevens who has publicly ridiculed Brit band Savages for the font used on their debut album cover. Stevens writes

“The very cool SAVAGES has allowed a very uncool typographical blunder on its LP cover: Helvetica Narrow (weight loss is the worst thing that can happen to an iconic font, aka iOS 6). Also can we talk about the weird italics (unnecessary affectation, and very un-British), cramped leading (totally unforgivable) and unnecessary line break? Who the Fraggle designed this?”

Easy tiger…. You can check out the post on his Tumblr page here.

Genius Nightclub Urinal Tells Patrons When They’ve Had One Too Many

In a bid to cut down on the number of idiots who get into cars after drinking to excess, a club in Singapore decided that the answer lies in our pee. In a super inspired plan, a device which analyses the urine of club-goers reads whether or not they’ve had too much to drink and lets them know if they need to get a cab via a screen in the toilet. Check out the video to see how they actually stop the drunks from getting into their cars. (Via Gizmag)

Daft Punk Make Their Mums Proud, Do Vogue

Joining the ranks of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and countless other robots, the duo that is Daft Punk have a spread coming out in an upcoming issue of the fashion magazine. Well, at least we assume it’s them, there’s really no way to tell right? The Parisian pair are joined by model Karlie Kloss on a frolic through midtown Manhattan. The spread will also be accompanied by an interview, in which the two speak of their inspirations and music citing Quentin Tarantino, Maurizio Cattelan, Kanye West and others amongst their muses. Check out the video.

Florence Welch Gets Drunk All Night To Get Lucky

In what can only be painfully described as glorified karaoke, Florence and her machine of a backing band clearly had a few too many and thought a medley of covers would be an ace idea to try on stage. Kicking off with an out of tune version of Daft Punk’s latest hit and moving (unsmoothly) into a rendition of Gossip’s ‘Standing In The Way Of Control’, Ms. Welch showed us that even the most elegant of chanteuse’s sometimes have off days.
