The Ólafur Arnalds Australian Tour 2013 has been announced and after headlining Sonar Festival and emerging as a live favourite at SXSW earlier this year, the talented Icelandic multi-instrumentalist has now selected a special run of shows Down Under that allow his audiences to get up close to his music.

With a deep emotional intensity, Ólafur Arnalds’ live show is a genre defying experience blending soaring cinematic sounds, dark trip hop and ambient/electronica influences to create an intense and evocative musical language.

Ólafur Arnalds has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with both his studio work and live-shows. Since the release of his debut album Eulogy for Evolution in 2007 he has built up a dedicated international following and is well established for his genre-crossing compositions.

More recently Arnalds has been venturing into the world of films, writing his first Hollywood film score to Another Happy Day. He also had music in the hit film The Hunger Games, So You Think You Can Dance and the new ABC1 thriller series Broadchurch.

For Now I Am Winter, is the Icelandic musician’s first album to be released through Mercury Classics/Universal Music Australia, and has already been pegged by some local press as one of the sleeper hits of the year.

Don’t miss this unique chance to catch Ólafur Arnalds in intimate setting as he plays three shows this September at Sydney, Adelaide, and as part of the Brisbane Festival.
