The CherryFest 2013 lineup has just dropped and Californian garage rock legends The Bellrays will headline the annual street festival on Sunday 24 November 2013 in their one and only Victorian appearance as part of a lightning promo tour for their new album ‘Black Lightning.’

The CherryFest 2013 lineup will feature 14 acts across 2 stages in AC/DC Lane and the Cherry Bar from 12noon till 9.30pm. Other notable confirmed acts include the reunion of local Blues crusaders Chris Wilson’s Crown Of Thorns who haven’t played together for the best part of 20 years. And the first ever Australian show from Germany’s stoner rock icons of beards and guitars, the incredible Kadavar.

Cherry Bar owner and booker James Young reflects, “I really think we’ve got it right this year. Last year we got greedy and charged $94, this year we needed to give back to the people, so we’ve dropped our price by a whopping $40 to a mere $54 early bird ticket price and are pulling together an unforgettable line-up.

“The Bellrays sound to me like Tina Turner singing out front of the MC5. They are one of the best and most exciting live bands in the world. It is an honour, a privilege and a miracle that they are headlining CherryFest in this exclusive show.

“Kadavar are my favourite new band. A trio from Berlin, these young Germans know their 70s Black Sabbath and their beards. AC/DC Lane is going to grow a beard while they play.

“Chris Wilson’s Crown of Thorns reforming to play CherryFest is an amazing effort, mainly thanks to Maxwell Von Crawdaddy, and to have Australian Blues Royalty and the “Hendrix of the harmonica” Chris Wilson playing beside Barb Waters, Ash Davies and Chris Rogers again is something that’s really going to get the drinking arms of Melbourne swinging, I can assure you. And why not throw in quality locals HOSS, The Legends of Motorsport, The Mercy Kills and The Deep End just to complete our first round of artist announcements. I can picture the heads banging in AC/DC Lane already.

“For the first two weeks we have an early bird $54 ticket price, and with another eleven amazing bands to come, you just know it’s going to be special, cos CherryFest is THE rock n roll street party for music lovers.”
