An AlunaGeorge ListenOut 2013 Sideshow has been announced and following on from fellow UK act Disclosure announcing a run of shows to complement their headline slot at the ‘intelligent’ dance music festival Listen Out 2013 (nee Parklife), its now their British collaborators turn.
One of 2013’s most hyped acts, AlunaGeorge, are set to play their only Australian sideshow on Thursday 3 October at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney. It offers fans a chance to see their unique twist on contemporary pop music up close and personal.
Heralded by critics worldwide, from Pitchfork to the BBC, AlunaGeorge are this year’s ‘must see’ act. Their take on modern British dance music has seem them collaborate with acts like Disclosure, and their ear for pop sensibilities has seen their debut album hit the top 10 on the UK iTunes chart.
The marriage between beat-maker George, whose influences stem from Flying Lotus and pretty much the whole Warp Records back catalogue, combined with Aluna, whose voice harks back to classic RnB of Aaliyah and Tweet, has resulted in one of the most exciting sounds this year.
